It’s been a year since the national government imposed nationwide lockdown. In its attempt to control the spread of the Corona Virus to other persons, the government instructed local government units (LGUs) to close their borders and asked the citizens to stay at home. Three (3) months after, in June 2020, the government allowed essential workers to go outside of their home for work, one (1) household member to buy groceries and food, and allowed people movement with restrictions on inter-city travels. Months later, the government started to loosen its restrictions on people going outside with its campaign of observing minimum safety health protocols, like social distancing, wearing of face masks and shields.
However, in spite of such campaigns, people tend to ignore safety protocols and went on their own way as if the COVID19 virus threat is over which spiked the number of COVID19 virus cases. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ordered all establishments to implement contact tracing forms for whoever will enter their store. A year has passed, 600K+ infections, 12K+ deaths, the highest among Asian countries, still our country can’t implement contact tracing properly. This is due to failure to centralize collected data from establishments with their contract tracing forms. Each establishment has their own way of providing contact tracing form to their customers, thus the disconnect of information. Government has no way of tracing positive cases contacts automatically as it relies mainly on the honesty of the infected and the resourcefulness of the LGU’s Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT).
—The government-back contact tracing app since its launched on April 2020 hasn’t even started rolling out in NCR, if not the whole Philippines. Government admitted failure on this part of their efforts to fight the COVID19 virus.
Meanwhile, LGUs are imposing localized lockdowns in their respective barangays, and on March 15, 2021 will impose this time synchronized Curfews to all persons. The curfew window hours will be from 10PM to 4AM for two (2) weeks.
Don’t you know that eBarangayPH system will have a contact tracing feature embedded in the mobile app? Since the eBarangayPH system will be available on every major cities, it can produce QR Codes for every registered establishments and the eBarangayPH mobile app will just scan it and it will automatically saved in our cloud server. No need to input your personal details to use this feature. Once a COVID19 positive is detected in the patient, the BHERT can just flag the resident in the system and will automatically generate trace reports on people he/she had in contact with on that particular establishments. And since it is cloud-based, the system can search for contacts within the city. No need for longer and tedious contact validation. Isn’t it cool, right?
Is your barangay already subscribed to eBarangayPH system? if not yet, please tell your barangay officials to start exploring our possibility to serve your barangay.
Stay safe everyone!
