President Rodrigo Duterte registers himself on the Philippine ID System (PhilSys) as official photos from Malacañang revealed.
The President signed into law PhilSys Act or Republic Act (R.A.) 11055 on 2018, that mandated the government to implement a single official ID card for all citizens and foreign residents that will serve as a de-facto national identification system by collecting personal information and biometrics.
R.A. 11055 was highlighted when issues on the delayed government effort to distribute emergency cash subsidies to its citizens due to security and logistic concerns.
